Mr. Garner's educational background includes—
B.S. in Biology from Princeton University;
a Master of Science
degree in Biology and Human Physiology from the University of Oregon; and
an
M.B.A. in Marketing with emphasis on Marketing Communications from the Amos
Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College (rated best MBA program in the world
by The Wall Street Journal in 2001).
He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Oregon and National Direct Marketing Associations, the American Telemarketing Association, the Consultants Forum, the Executive Officers Club and both AT&T's and MCI's Consultant Liaison Programs.
Mr. Garner is a speaker and contributor of articles and columns in international trade magazines. He was the developer and host of the all-business talk show The Consultants' Corner on the fifth largest affiliate of the nationwide Business Radio Network, KBNP in Portland, Oregon.
He also
founded, in 1992, and managed the Resource Focus Group (RFG), turning its
management over in 1999. The RFG is a group of service providers (40%) and
Chief Executive Officers (60%) that meet to help local companies solve
strategic problems or capitalize on strategic opportunities. Presenting
companies were carefully selected by Mr. Garner to provide intellectual and
business challenge to the group and significant benefits to the local firm.
Mr. Garner was a member of the Board of Directors of The Autom Church Supply Company in Phoenix, AZ for four years. Autom is a 50 year old distributor of religious products to religious institutions, resellers, gift shops and mass merchandisers. Autom has operations in China, Hong Kong, Italy, and Arizona.
